Overview
A Senior Advisor, Public Affairs on the National Bank Public Affairs team serves as a communications specialist, supporting the Bank’s relationships with multiple external stakeholders. The role has a significant positive impact through knowledge of current events, social issues and robust communication skills.

Responsibilities

Manage media relations, acting as spokesperson for the organization

Develop external communication strategies aligned with the Bank’s orientations, priorities, culture and values

Draft strategic communications for the organization, including speeches for executives and press releases

Contribute to incident management and reputational risk management, which may require availability outside normal work hours

Provide specialized advice to executives and business lines for their external communication activities

Participate in the Bank’s institutional relations activities

Your Team
The public Affairs team consists of seven specialists who work agile, proactively and collaboratively to seize opportunities, promote the Bank, defend its reputation and stay abreast of technology and trends.



The team is part of the larger Public Affairs and Linguistic Services group of 20 colleagues, reporting to the Vice‑President, Public Affairs and Government Relations.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a related field and at least 10 years of relevant experience

Experience in media relations and/or government relations

Proficiency in corporate public communications, including speeches for executives and press releases

Expertise in crisis and incident management

Knowledge of best practices and proficiency in collaboration tools (e.g., social media)

Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
