WHO WE ARE The Christian Medical and Dental Association of Canada (CMDA) exists to engage, encourage, and equip physicians and dentists to glorify God by integrating the gospel into their skilled lives. As the largest community of Christian doctors, dentists, and students in Canada, CMDA offers its members the opportunity to connect with peers through a nation‑wide network of like‑minded practitioners and students.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES The Executive Director provides executive leadership and a transparent Christian focus in living out the mission of the organization of engaging, encouraging, and equipping Christian doctors and dentists to glorify God by integrating the Gospel in practice. You will be responsible for managing all operational activities of the Association and leading staff and volunteers by developing an annual tactical plan based upon key results established by the Board of Directors.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE You will be a university graduate with several years of progressively responsible leadership/management experience. You will also have:
Experience in translating strategy into action and delivering outcomes
Experience leading people by setting direction,
fostering a healthy work environment, and promoting team excellence and growth
Experience with planning, budgeting and financial oversight
Strong facilitation skills with the ability to lead challenging conversations, negotiate shared solutions, and maintain productive relationships within the organization
Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
Experience in public speaking, handling media relations, writing articles, giving presentations, and leading workshops both in person and virtually, including through videos
An active spiritual life rooted in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, committed to personal prayer and active participation in a church community
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS An understanding of current ethical issues related to the practice of medicine and dentistry in Canada would be an asset.
Salary Salary to be determined commensurate with qualifications.
WORKING CONDITIONS The National Office is based in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, however, work from home is an option.
