Become an Indigenous Cultural Liaison with Rocky View Schools in Airdrie, focused on enriching Indigenous education and cultural engagement. This full-time role aims to support Indigenous student success in a cooperative educational framework.
You will be tasked with developing and implementing cultural programs that bolster Indigenous student attendance and participation. Collaborating with parents, educators, and community leaders, you will foster essential relationships that support educational and cultural integration for Indigenous students within the school division. This role is situated in a supportive setting that prioritizes individualized student needs and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver cultural teachings to enhance educational experiences
• Aid Indigenous student transitions to different educational levels
• Document and report on provided support services
• Engage with Indigenous communities to cultivate partnerships
• Advocate for Indigenous perspectives in educational content
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in intercultural or community education
• First Nations Community Liaison certification or equivalent
• 3+ years of related experience in community development
• Knowledge of child development and intergenerational trauma
• Solid skills in communication and collaboration
