As a mechanic within Pomerleau's Civil & Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, and repair of drilling machines on construction sites. Working on large‑scale construction projects ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion, you will have the chance to ensure the safety, productivity, and sustainability of drilling operations.
What you will do
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on drilling machines
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical failures
Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics and technical manuals
Ensure replacement of defective parts and carry out necessary adjustments
Collaborate with operators and the operations manager to optimize equipment performance
Test repaired equipment to ensure proper functioning while complying with manufacturer requirements and standards
Maintain an inventory of drill spare parts and consumables
Produce an inspection certificate after repair and inspection
Clean and lubricate equipment and perform other routine maintenance tasks
Carry out periodic maintenance operations such as oil changes, lubrication, and tuning
Attend training related to recent technologies
This role could be for you if you have
A valid CCQ competency certificate for heavy machinery mechanics
Hold a DEP in construction equipment mechanics
Have 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
Possess a valid driver's license
Familiarity with Epiroc (Atlas Copco) drills – an asset
