Siltech Corporation, a Canadian owned global provider of organo-functional silicone specialties, is looking to hire immediately a full time, permanent Pipefitter/Welder for our recent Fort Erie Plant. This position is responsible for welding plant equipment safely and to engineering specifications. Performs other maintenance duties to support maintenance team as required.

Main Duties

Completes piping and equipment installations

Welds, threads and pipe fits in the shop and in the field

Welds pipe supports to structural steel members

Tests and performs quality control on pipe systems

Maintains equipment so it is available for production when required

Works with contractors on required project activities

Builds and installs required upgrades as defined by engineering

Recommends changes/upgrades to management for implementation

Assists the maintenance supervisor in managing the spare parts inventory





Is an integral part of annual maintenance shutdown activities

Collaborates with other workers to implement projects

Knowledge Required

Must possess current welder/pipe fitter license (Red Seal)

Applicable welding certifications

Understands use of lifting and hoisting devices – chain blocks, etc

Experienced with process and utility piping installations

TIG, MIG, and Stick Welding abilities for stainless steel and carbon steel systems

Field welding and installation focused

TSSA certified to weld piping systems. ASME B31.1 and ASME B31.3 Piping Codes

Layout experience for pipe routing from P&ID;’s and/or isometrics

Robust interpersonal and communication skills

3–5 years’ experience preferably in a Chemical Plant with confined space entries
