Serve the District of Squamish as a Community Bylaw Services Officer, focusing on field enforcement and community standards. Engage respectfully while maintaining public safety and addressing municipal bylaw infractions.
This temporary full time role requires effective communication and administration skills, alongside investigative abilities. You will maintain records, prepare reports for the Council, and engage with the community to educate on bylaws. Your proactive patrolling ensures compliance and safety across the Municipality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Communicate clearly and concisely with the community
• Organize and maintain administrative records and correspondence
• Prepare court documents and prosecute violations
• Investigate complaints regarding bylaw infractions
• Patrol the area to detect municipal bylaw violations
Requirements:
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s licence
• Grade 12 education with enforcement experience
• Completion of Bylaw Compliance and Enforcement certificates
• Minimum two years' enforcement and animal handling experience
• Original Police Information Check satisfactory to the Employer
