About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel with a focus on commercial contracts to join their energetic and mission-driven team. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of commercial contract and legal issues, including the drafting, review, and negotiation of various agreements. This role is pivotal in supporting the business and requires a team player with a strong background in commercial contract law, corporate law, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and data privacy law, particularly as it relates to the data and technology industries. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience, be detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Key responsibilities for the Associate General Counsel include ensuring the compliance of contract templates with current laws and best practices, monitoring and analyzing privacy laws and regulations, and handling special projects as needed. The role demands an independent and innovative thinker with the ability to manage a high volume of contracts, juggle multiple projects, and work both independently and as part of a team. A strong work ethic, proactive mindset, and the ability to apply sound business and legal judgment to a variety of commercial contracts and relationships are essential. Familiarity with AI/ML issues is a plus, and the candidate should be a self-starter with a proactive approach to their work.
