The Mandate
We are pleased to partner with a Big Canadian Financial Group to source a Network Delivery Lead for their Network Delivery Engineering (NDE) team. In this critical role, you will lead the delivery of network changes across all data centers and the enterprise. You will ensure that vital network systems—specifically routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and proxies—remain highly available, reliable, secure, and fully documented.
This is a high-impact position designed for a self-starter who excels at coordinating complex delivery in a 24/7/365 environment. You will be the central point of contact for infrastructure releases, ensuring that every deployment adheres to industry best practices while driving operational efficiency.
What You Will Do
Coordination & Leadership: You will act as the primary coordinator for network engineering release and deploy staff. You will oversee the execution of project deliverables, manage timelines, and motivate cross-functional teams to meet corporate goals.
Technical Infrastructure Delivery: You will oversee the deployment of scalable enterprise network solutions. This includes managing complex environments utilizing Cisco (Nexus, Catalyst, ACI), CheckPoint firewalls, and F5 load balancing technology.
Change & Risk Governance:
You will lead Change Management for network delivery, reviewing proposed changes for conflicts, competing priorities, and risk. You will manage the "go/no-go" release decision-making process.
Incident Management & Escalation: In the event of network incidents, you will lead the root cause determination and recovery efforts. You will serve as the escalation point for critical service issues, ensuring resolution is achieved and reported to leadership.
Operational Excellence: Partner with automation teams to develop and refine daily processes. You will ensure that release plans include comprehensive rollback procedures and that automated deployment strategies are the default standard.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of experience as an IT Delivery Manager or Lead in a large-scale organization (Financial Services experience is strongly preferred).
Technical Proficiency: Significant, hands-on experience in high-transaction, high-availability environments. Deep expertise in Cisco (Nexus, Catalyst, ACI), CheckPoint, and F5 load balancing.
Networking Knowledge: Strong foundational understanding of BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, HSRP, VPC, STP/PVST, Port Channels, and Ether Channels.
Change Management: Extensive experience utilizing ServiceNow for change, incident, and problem management workflows.
Soft Skills: Proven ability to manage on/offshore delivery models. You must possess excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict management skills to facilitate project direction across diverse teams.
Certifications: Cisco certifications (CCNP/CCIE) are highly preferred. F5, Checkpoint, Juniper, or Cloud (AWS/Azure) certifications are considered solid assets.
