Job Title: Nursing Instructor – Bachelor of Science in Psychiatric Nursing
Position Type: Temporary, Part‑time (NR 2, 62.5% FTE)
Appointment Dates: September 1, 2026 – August 31, 2027

Salary: Faculty Pay Scale (placement on the scale will depend on education and teaching experience; advancement is based on FTE and employment status)
Workplace: On‑site, Surrey campus (occasional travel between campuses required)
Position Overview
Faculty members in the Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing (BPN) program are responsible for delivering high‑quality, theory‑based and clinical instruction that prepares students for skilled psychiatric nursing practice. The role includes teaching the following courses:
PSYN 2230 – Fundamentals of Medical/Surgical Nursing (Theory)
PSYN 2245 – Medical/Surgical Nursing (Clinicals)
PSYN 3145 – Acute Mental Health Nursing (Clinicals)
The courses are scheduled in the Fall 2026 (September) and Spring 2027 (January) terms, with a non‑teaching period in Summer 2027 (May). Course assignments are subject to change.
Qualifications
Master’s degree completed (PhD preferred)
Eligible for registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse with no limits, conditions, or terms
Qualified to fulfill all teaching responsibilities of the program, including entry‑level competencies for Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPN)
Minimum of five years of practice experience and current competence in the area of teaching
