Job Description
As a Field Service Technician II, you will be responsible for the installation and support of wireless communications systems. Our technicians are the heart of every service location and provide the best service and solutions for our customers. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service and possess the technical ability to create imaginative solutions that meet and exceed the most challenging customer needs.
Create mid‑level programming codeplugs (12+ channels, trunking, multiple zones)
Install and service wireless communications equipment (UHF/VHF, 800/900 MHz systems, dispatch consoles, BDA/DAS systems, microwave systems, wireless broadband devices, CCTV equipment)
Recommend appropriate equipment and hardware that meets customer requirements
Some regional and/or overnight travel and on‑call hours may be required
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient electronics background
Experience diagnosing, repairing, programming, and installing RF equipment
Understanding of two‑way radio theory and RF propagation characteristics at various frequency bands
Competence operating test equipment (communications service monitors, wattmeters, TDRs, FDRs, multimeters)
IP networking experience a plus
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Valid driver’s license
Ability to pass drug screening, motor vehicle record, and background checks
Qualifications
3+ years of service technician experience in diagnosing, repairing, programming, installing, and commissioning video and access control systems
Good base knowledge of networks and electronic systems
Reads basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications to determine installation procedures; interprets manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams
Proficiency operating various test equipment, including utility software applications, network testers, and multimeters
Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel)
Hold currently or in the past an alarm license certification
Hold one or more computer or computer networking certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, ETA-I CST, NCT, ICT, NST, WNT, Cisco CCNA or prerequisite Cisco certification)
Preferred knowledge: associate degree in electronics technology or equivalent, or military training in electronics
Preferred experience with Avigilon or similar video and access control security systems
Security clearance preferred
Team‑driven individual in a dynamic work environment, self‑driven to perform even without outside direction
Ability to show proof of vaccination against Covid-19,
unless a medical or religious exemption applies
Valid driver’s license
Drug screenings and background checks are part of the hiring process, which may also include a motor vehicle record check
