Sedgman is currently recruiting for an Estimator to lead cost estimating activities for engineering projects in the mining and mineral processing industry. This role will be based out of our Vancouver office.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare accurate cost estimates for studies and projects, ensuring alignment with time, cost, and quality targets.

Lead and collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to develop estimates and risk assessments.

Maintain and improve estimating systems, databases, templates, and cost records, including final design take-offs.

Track, report, and manage estimating activities.

Establish, maintain, and continuously improve estimating databases, price books, templates, and spreadsheets.

Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating risk management processes and tools.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience estimating within engineering or construction environments in the mining industry.

Experience developing estimates from AACE Class 1 to Class 5.

Experience with @Risk or similar risk management software.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including high-level proofreading and document quality control.





Strong organisational skills with ability to coordinate estimates for multiple studies/projects simultaneously.

Ability to collaborate effectively with clients, stakeholders and cross-functional teams in developing cost estimates.

Experience with estimating systems, databases, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Salary Range
USD 120,000 – 150,000 (depending on education, experience, relevant skills and capability, geographic location and market conditions at the time of hire).
