Toronto, ON (12‑month contract, with option to extend)
Purpose
The Senior Accounting Associate will report directly into the Accounting Manager and provide exemplary customer service to external clients and administrative support to internal clients by performing all duties professionally and efficiently.
Role Responsibilities
Month end close involvement. Including journal entries, depreciation, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
Oversight and involvement within all AR processes including invoicing, receipting, credit control and collections evaluations.
Oversight and involvement within all AP processes including invoice review, cash flow evaluation, payment issuance, credit card transaction processes.
Maintain and develop internal control framework.
Involvement in preparing and maintaining financial forecasts and budgets.
Ad hoc reports and analysis to support requests from business stakeholders.
Involvement in Regulatory and Tax compliance including HST return preparation and analysis of the impact of any regulatory changes on the business.
Involvement in the year-end audit. Communicating with external auditors and assisting in the preparation of audit schedules, data, and information.
Transactional duties as required.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years Accounting experience (preference for experience within professional services and consulting businesses)
Undergraduate degree,
ideally with a focus on accounting
A professional accounting designation will be considered an asset
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written
Ability to identify and support needs of external and internal client base
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
While not required, experience with Deltek ERP software and AI automation tools is considered an asset
