Communications & Power Industries (CPI) is a global manufacturer of electronic components and subsystems. We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who will focus on the quality and reliability of CPI power amplifiers and/or medical generator products, working closely with a cross‑functional team of engineering, production, manufacturing engineering, quality and procurement.

YOUR DAY TO DAY
Owning complex manufacturing processes, leading major improvement and operations initiatives, and influencing product design for long‑term success. Effective communication, adaptability, strategic thinking, technical depth, and the ability to lead or be hands‑on driving scalable solutions are required.

YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
Collaboration & Communication

Lead cross‑functional collaboration and represent Manufacturing Engineering in customer, supplier, project reviews.

Provide mentorship and technical guidance to technical peers within and across teams.

Lead by example, contributing to team cadence, accountability and predictability.

Own and work in a cross‑functional operations team to deliver quality and predictability of product performance and deliveries.

Develop and optimize complex test systems, fixtures, and automated processes.

Act as senior technical authority for electro‑mechanical and RF system troubleshooting.

Mindset & Approach

Be a key supporter in communicating comprehensive strategies and plans for managing complex technical and organizational challenges.

Identify and follow through in areas for improvement, striving for scalability of standards and processes.

Demonstrate a forward‑looking, transformational mindset that anticipates risks and future capability needs.

Drive systemic closure of issues through predictive, data‑driven, and scalable solutions.

Influence new product designs to ensure manufacturability, testability, and long‑term reliability.

Lead continuous improvement programs with measurable impact on cost, quality,



and throughput.

Project & Initiative Management

Lead multiple high‑priority initiatives simultaneously, balancing factory needs with long‑term strategic projects.

Own and drive systemic resolution through PFMEAs, capability studies, MRB investigations, Cause Mapping, 8D, and VSM activities.

Direct the design and qualification of jigs, fixtures, gauges, and automation solutions.

Lead medium‑to‑large scale technical and operations projects including capital planning efforts.

Manage complex projects with transparent communication of scope, risk, and timelines to stakeholders.

Drive cross‑functional prioritization and decision‑making with the consideration of quality, cost, and delivery.

Process Ownership

Own and optimize manufacturing build, inspection, and test processes for high‑complexity products.

Lead standardization, commonality, and cross‑training initiatives across manufacturing workflows.

Drive major improvements in safety, quality, efficiency, and maintainability.

Oversee field failure investigations and ensure robust corrective actions are implemented.

Manage the design and qualification of jigs, fixtures, gauges, and automation solutions.

Own BOM configuration strategy, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and alignment with design intent.

Lead advanced RF testing and characterization of HPAs across satellite communication bands.

Support calibration strategies, advanced use of RF test equipment an asset (PNA, VNA, spectrum analyzers).

Apply advanced electrical engineering principles to AC, DC, and RF systems, guiding others in best practices.

Additional Project Management





Ability to gauge, communicate and manage projects / tasks of varying urgency.

Lead and/or contribute to multiple initiatives simultaneously, from factory issues to the implementation of new amplifier features or parts.

Develop and maintain effective communication with the operations team to prioritize and resolve technical issues to meet all customer requirements, including quality, cost, and delivery.

Other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Degree or Technologist diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, RF Engineering.

Minimum 8+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a high‑tech environment.

Demonstrated leadership in process ownership, technical troubleshooting, and cross‑functional initiatives.

Green Belt certification required; Black Belt preferred.

PMP or PENG designation is an asset.

Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of strategic planning.

Strong ability to collaborate and influence across the organization.

Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.

SolidWorks, AutoCAD, additive manufacturing.

Must be able to meet CGP requirements.
