About the team The Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation team of accounting professionals oversee all accounting and financial activities, and establish financial policies, procedures, internal controls and reporting systems.
What you’ll do The Manager, Accounting is responsible for overseeing the organization’s accounting operations and financial reporting to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. This role leads and supports the accounting team, maintains effective internal controls and systems, and provides expert financial analysis, reporting, and advice to senior leadership. This position also ensures compliance with legislative and professional accounting standards, supports audit and budgeting processes, and contributes to continuous improvement of financial practices and controls.
What you’ll bring An undergraduate degree and a skilled accounting designation; combined with five years of progressively responsible experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
Knowledge of effective principles of supervision of staff and management of a small work unit.
Knowledge of Canadian Accounting Standards (IFRS, ASPE,



Non-profit organizations and Pensions).
Knowledge of accounting for investments.
Demonstrated organizational skills in organizing own work.
Demonstrated ability to effectively handle work requiring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Demonstrated initiative in undertaking assignments and completing work within strict timelines.
Good analytical skills.
Superior interpersonal skills in dealing with people both within and outside the organization.
