In this community nursing role, you will support patients requiring wound, ostomy, and continence assessment, care, and management. Working as part of the ParaMed nursing health care team, you will deliver evidence‑based nursing practice, provide education, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities Provide direct patient care, including wound, ostomy, and continence assessment, care and management.
Educate ParaMed’s nursing health care team, patients, and families.
Provide consultation/clinical support to the team (direct or remote) and recommend specialty products and nursing care.
Participate in wound, ostomy, and continence clinical leadership opportunities.
Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Preceptor ParaMed nurses as required.
Follow evidence‑based practices and ParaMed policies and procedures for wound, ostomy, and continence care.
Qualifications Registered Nurse with a specialization in Wound, Ostomy & Continence (NSWOC) or equivalent certification.
International Interprofessional Wound Care Course (IIWCC) experience considered.
Canadian Nurses Association Certification – WOCC(C) is an asset.
Minimum of 2 years practice as a Registered Nurse, preferably in a community setting or providing wound/ostomy/continence care (direct care or consultation).
Current membership/registration with Nurses Specialized in Wound, Ostomy & Continence Canada (preferred).
