Support the UBC Xwi7xwa Library with cataloguing, acquisitions, and public service tasks. Play a crucial role in managing Indigenous materials and community interactions.
As a Cataloguing & Acquisitions Assistant, you will enhance catalogue records and aid in acquiring resources. Reporting to the Head of Xwi7xwa Library, the role requires collaboration with various library teams and Indigenous communities. You'll also help patrons at the Information Desk, addressing inquiries and fostering a welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Process and track new collections and acquisitions
• Enhance catalogue records with cultural accuracy
• Provide public service at the Information Desk
• Guide patrons on cataloguing and collections
• Assist with training student staff in technical services
Requirements:
• Library Technician diploma with two years of experience
• Robust knowledge of cataloguing procedures
• Effective interpersonal and organizational skills
• Commitment to equity and diversity initiatives
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
