Pythagoras Academy is an exceptional co‑educational independent school for students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8. Contract: Full Time.

Start Date: August 27, 2024.

Duties and Responsibilities

Ability to work effectively with students with varying challenges and unique needs.

Able to provide intellectual and behavior support to students.

Teach prepared lesson plans and lead interactive learning activities.

Initiate and facilitate classroom discussions.

Incorporate appropriate technology and media in lesson planning.

Accompany classes on field trips.

Promote and maintain high standards of behavior, respect, and safety within the classroom.

Create a protected and caring relationship with students that supports their growth and development.

Develop a positive, secure culture through actions and words.





Integrate social responsibility and kindness into daily teaching and routines.

Position Qualifications

Possess or be in the process of obtaining a valid BC Teaching Certificate.

Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in education.

Model a robust work ethic and high standards of commitment.

Foster school mission, values, and sense of community through student‑centered decisions.

Effectively communicate with staff, parents, and students.

Maintain professionalism through all school interactions and activities.

Compensation: Pythagoras Academy teaching salaries are 5% above Richmond School Board salaries.
