Job Overview
Position: MEP Operations Assistant in the Building and Operations team at Pomerleau Construction. Responsible for coordinating mechanical, electrical and plumbing operations on large-scale building and infrastructure projects ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion.
Responsibilities
Ensure overall success of MEP execution on assigned projects.
Act proactively to predict and mitigate risks.
Assist with document control, meeting minutes and MEP quality items.
Help manage MEP scopes and trade partners.
Maintain relationships to ensure trust and long-term cooperation.
Manage the document process and assist with review and approval of MEP shop drawings.
Conduct inspections of MEP work and produce reports.
Inspect MEP equipment arrivals and provide reports.
Track and manage MEP deficiencies.
Support the project team in preparing and validating construction schedules and commissioning, and provide technical reviews of specialty shop drawings.
Monitor construction progress to ensure compliance with the schedule, identifying issues that affect project commissioning.
Be on site to assist with day-to-day MEP operations and support the site staff.
Ensure quality and commissioning plans from MEP trade partners are executed.
Assist in driving the commissioning process, including management of the third-party commissioning agent on site.
Participate in meetings as required by the MEP Operations Leads or project manager.
Qualifications
5+ years of mechanical and electrical experience in the construction industry.
University degree or diploma in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a combination of education and industry experience.
Proven track record of mechanical and electrical coordination and team collaboration.
