About the Role
Under the direction of the Food & Nutrition Services Manager and Supervisor, the Food Service Worker will assist with the preparation and serving of food to residents and maintain a clean and protected work area.
What We Are Looking For
Secondary School Diploma
6 months experience in food service and an understanding of therapeutic diets
Completion of the Food Services Worker certificate program, or Post-Secondary diploma/degree in Food/Nutrition Management, or a diploma from an established college or Red Seal Program status, as required by Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007
Knowledge of Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care Standards and ability to ensure compliance with these standards
Fundamental knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, WHMIS,
the Sanitation Code and related legislation
Ability to read and write and follow verbal and written instructions
Ability and willingness to provide a service that enhances the dignity and respects the diversity of residents
Must be available to work shift work any day of the week and weekends
What We Are Offering
$26.62 per hour, plus 12% pay in lieu of perks according to the collective agreement.
