The Psychology and Mental Health program at the Augustana Faculty has a sessional teaching vacancy for Fall Term 2026 to teach AUPSY 483 Psychological Disorders. The Fall 2026 term runs from September 1 through December 8, 2026. The examination period runs until December 22. This is a required course in the Psychology and Mental Health program at Augustana. The course is offered annually.
Location – This role is in person. Work primarily takes place at Augustana Campus, Camrose. Online teaching is negotiable for the ideal candidate.
Responsibilities Develop lecture and seminar material related to psychological disorders that address course learning outcomes.
Learning outcomes include consideration of both western and non-western concepts of mental health and mental illness. In particular, students should be encouraged to critically consider diagnostic practices (e.g., DSM-5-TR) alongside needs and perspectives on mental health and mental illness of Indigenous communities (e.g.,



addressing Truth and Reconciliation Commission calls 21 and 22).
Prepare, administer, and grade examinations and other course assessments appropriate for a senior seminar.
Maintain regularly scheduled office hours to respond to student questions.
Qualifications Master's degree in Psychology is required.
Registered Psychologist in Canada with experience in diagnosis.
Demonstrated excellence or solid potential in teaching at the post-secondary level.
