Lead the genetics and genomics laboratory services in Alberta as Provincial Medical-Scientific Director. Oversee quality initiatives and partner with clinical leaders for impactful healthcare.
In this pivotal senior role, you will take charge of the strategic direction for genetics and genomics services across Alberta. Collaborating closely with laboratory and operational leadership, you will ensure comprehensive oversight and integration of services. The position includes an 0.8 FTE commitment to leadership roles and a 0.2 FTE for clinical services, fully aligning with Alberta Precision Laboratories’ healthcare priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee laboratory operations in genetics and genomics
• Drive accreditation and quality governance processes
• Lead workforce planning and manage performance metrics
• Engage with clinical and academic stakeholders
• Chair key committees for laboratory governance
Requirements:
• MD or PhD in relevant fields with certifications
• At least five years of diagnostic service experience
• Knowledge of best practices in G&G; services
• Proven leadership in complex healthcare settings
• Understanding of operational priorities in resource-sensitive settings
