As an Addictions Counsellor at the Ochapowace Stabilization Centre, you will blend clinical expertise with cultural practices to support clients on their recovery journey. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, creating safety plans, and leading individual and group counselling sessions while actively engaging in community health initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide trauma-informed support to those in recovery
• Carry out assessments and develop care plans
• Lead sessions for individual and group counselling
• Engage in community service and prevention efforts
• Accurately document client progress and after-care
Requirements:
• Relevant diploma or degree with direct experience
• Minimum two years in related counselling fields
• Knowledge of recovery-oriented practices and trauma-informed care
• Understanding of nehiyaw ceremonies and healing methodologies
• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence and criminal background clearance
