Job Summary
The Office of the Minnesota Attorney General seeks Fall Law Clerks to work directly with Assistant Attorneys General across all divisions. Law students will review documents, research legal issues, draft written product, and appear in court, taking on significant responsibility for their files.
Responsibilities
Review legal documents and evidence.
Research legal issues and case law.
Draft written products such as opinions, briefs, and memoranda.
Appear in oral arguments and courtroom proceedings.
Collaborate with attorneys and staff across multiple divisions.
Maintain accurate and organized case files.
Work in a hybrid workplace, combining in‑office and telework.
Minimum Qualifications
Current law student in good standing at an accredited law school.
Solid academic credentials.
Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills; a writing sample up to five pages required.
Adaptability, inclusive collaboration, excellent judgment, character, and work ethic.
Physical Requirements
Ability to move and transport items such as files, laptop computer, and resource materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
Additional Requirements
Background investigation: SEMA4 Records Check, Criminal History Check, Employment Reference Check, Education/License Verification.
Verification of identity and eligibility to work in the United States upon hire.
