Take part in community recreation as a Casual Recreation Assistant with the City of Salmon Arm at the SASCU Recreation Centre. Engage with youth and manage programs while working flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
This part time role is crucial for the Shuswap Recreation Society, reporting to the Aquatics and Programming Manager. You'll plan and deliver program activities, handle reception duties, and teach youth leadership courses, molding future leaders through recreation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate the reception area for program support
• Develop and facilitate engaging program activities
• Set up and dismantle spaces for events and activities
• Teach courses such as Safe at Home and others
• Assist in coordinating special events at the Recreation Centre
Requirements:
• Weekend and evening availability is a must
• Must hold a Standard First Aid certification
• Minimum of two years experience working with children
• Training in Early Childhood Education preferred
• Criminal record check including vulnerable sector required
