Become a Housing Mentor with The Link, empowering youth aged 18-30 through supportive and trauma-informed relationships. Join our mission in fostering resilience and community connection.
As a Housing Mentor, you'll work closely with clients facing housing instability while collaborating with the Housing First team. Your role entails providing individualized and asset-based support in a caring environment. You'll build strong relationships that help participants access necessary resources and maintain reliable tenancies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop supportive relationships with program participants
• Provide ongoing contact and individualized support
• Assist participants in understanding tenancy rights
• Advocate for participants with landlords
• Mediate conflicts between participants and landlords
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in social services or related fields
• Experience with Indigenous peoples’ issues
• Knowledge of trauma-informed and cultural awareness practices
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
