Retail Marketing Specialist

The Retail Marketing Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the Commercial and Customer Development Teams by driving sales through effective distribution, promotions, reporting, analytics, and insights. This role serves as a liaison between marketing, finance, customer development, and senior management.

What You Will Do:

- Collaborate with Marketing and Customer Development leaders to develop and track objectives and priorities to achieve business results.
- Manage the monthly accrual process for Gross to Net (GTN) spend.
- Participate in the monthly CBP (Atlas) Discipline and analyze the retail setting versus plans, reviewing volume, sales, distribution and adjusting strategies based on findings.
- Develop, maintain, and update KPI trackers for both the sales team and customers.
- Report on product launch metrics, innovation scorecarding, and distribution reporting.
- Manage and develop process flows for regional and territory updates, customer master data, consumption data, and oversee the third‑party platforms used by customers and the Hill’s Team.
- Host the monthly marketing and customer development team calls.
- Analyze market and internal data to gather category shopper insights, identify growth opportunities, and develop action plans.
- Support the execution of customer‑facing materials and tools.
- Create compelling stories for customers that illustrate how shopper behaviors influence categories and deliver insight‑based presentations.
- Attend meetings with key customers to present the Hill’s Retail Marketing strategy and strengthen partnership relationships.
- Update and enforce sellers’ policy, tracking MAP and SDP compliance.
- Develop shopper solutions based on retail,



customer, and shopper knowledge.
- Support the commercial team with ad‑hoc analysis and administration as required.
- Act as the contact for the Field Team and answer questions promptly.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree.
- 5+ years of experience in marketing or customer development.
- 3+ years of experience managing customers in the consumer packaged goods industry.
- Computer literacy in Excel, Word, and Google Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Strong understanding of sales, marketing, and distribution practices in the industry.
- Experience with Tableau.
- 3+ years of experience managing customers in the pet retail industry.

Compensation

Salary Range: $92,700.00 – $120,225.00 CAD per year. Pay is based on experience, education, skills, and location. In addition to the base salary, Colgate-Palmolive Canada Inc. / Hill’s Pet Nutrition Canada Inc. offers a performance‑based bonus and a competitive benefits package.
