Our client, a world leader in machine tools, is looking for a Field Service Technician.
The incumbent will be responsible for installing, training customers on, and repairing CNC sheet metal fabrication machines, including laser systems. This role involves handling customer inquiries, managing our own schedule, and being available for adaptable schedule to ensure uninterrupted machinery operation for the clients. A valid passport and willingness to travel for customer service and training are required.
Responsibilities
Communicate with customers to arrange service calls.
Perform installation, diagnosis, and repair of CNC equipment.
Train customers on machine operation and maintenance.
Effectively communicate with customers, coworkers, and supervisors via phone, email, or in person.
Interpret and understand electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and parts diagrams.
Place replacement orders for customers as needed.
Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Quickly learn through both classroom and hands-on training.
Self-study through manuals and hands-on exposure to machinery.
Qualifications
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Robust aptitude with mechanical assemblies, capable of diagnosing issues and disassembling/rebuilding parts.
Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
Ability to lift heavy items.
Possess a valid passport and willing to travel for service and training purposes.
Post-secondary education in a relevant field.
Additional Skills
Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication.
Experience with CNC machinery, particularly Fanuc CNC controls or laser systems.
Possession of relevant licenses, degrees, or certifications.
Advanced PC skills, including networking knowledge.
