Contribute to the culinary team at UBCO as a Second Cook. This role involves hands-on food preparation, leadership at your station, and training other cooks in a supportive environment.
As a Second Cook, you will report directly to the Sous Chef, engaging with the broader Food Services staff. You will be responsible for day-to-day food production, working a designated line, and assuming a leadership role to ensure high-quality service. The position allows you to share your culinary expertise and offer training to Second and Third Cooks, promoting a collaborative kitchen atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
• Participate in daily food production tasks
• Work efficiently at your assigned cooking station
• Prepare various food items as directed




• Lead and train Second and Third Cooks
• Fulfill other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Grade 12 education or equivalent
• Cooking certificate and Food Secure Level 1
• Minimum two years cooking experience in a food service setting
• Ability to lift over 30 pounds safely
• Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends
