What is the Opportunity?

Aecon Industrial leads the way in industrial construction with a proven track record of safely delivering a broad range of project solutions for our clients. The role of Procurement Specialist reports to the Purchasing Manager and is responsible for supporting the end-to‑to‑pay process across Aecon Industrial projects. The position manages purchase requisitions, vendor coordination, goods receipt, and invoice workflows within SAP, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely resolution of procurement‑related issues. The Procurement Specialist works closely with project teams and suppliers to maintain productive operations, minimize exceptions, and support overall project execution.

What You’ll Do Here
Create Purchase Requisitions in SAP and confirm item descriptions, quantities and pricing with the project team.
Verify packing slips for all pertinent information and enter Goods Receipts in SAP.
Set up and maintain vendor profiles.
Monitor and manage daily invoice volumes within the AP Invoice Portal.
Transparent open commitments and close Purchase Orders as required.
Maintain and organize all related filing systems.
Drive toward a zero‑exception procure‑to‑pay process.




Perform other procurement administrative duties as required.

What You Bring To The Team
Minimum two years’ experience in the construction industry; procurement experience is favorable.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, exercising judgment and initiative, and manage multitasking.
Robust organizational and time‑management skills.
Ability to forge relationships internally across Aecon departments and externally with suppliers.
Technical understanding of SAP and the procure‑to‑pay process.
Strong computer skills – MS Excel, Business Objects.
Understanding of total‑cost concepts.
Problem‑solving, planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet timelines.
Independent thinker capable of taking initiative and finding solutions for challenges.
