Our Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH) teams in the Interior East Kootenay provide flexible, evidence‑based mental health supports tailored to the unique needs of each child, youth, and family. The Role
As a CYMH Clinician you will support the mental wellness of children, youth, and families through direct clinical services—including intake, assessment, treatment, suicide risk assessment, safety planning, and crisis intervention—for ages 0–18. Working flexibly across homes, schools, communities, and offices, you will collaborate with educators, healthcare providers, Indigenous service organizations, and community agencies to deliver holistic care.

We currently have two permanent full‑time positions: one in Ashcroft and one in Lillooet.

Responsibilities

Conduct intake, assessment, and ongoing treatment of children and youth up to age 19.

Perform suicide risk assessments, develop safety plans, and provide crisis interventions.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community partners to coordinate care.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and reports.

Participate in team meetings, supervision and continuing professional development.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Counselling, Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Counselling, Clinical Psychology, Child and Youth Care or a comparable graduate degree at the Master’s level;

If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, confirm equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES).

Minimum of one (1)



year full‑time equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, providing community‑based mental health services.

Valid B.C. Class 5 driver’s license.

Preference may be given to applicants who:

Have two (2)+ years of experience working with children and youth and families in similar roles.

Self‑identify as having Indigenous heritage (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit) with the required education and experience.

Additional Requirements

Work location will be Ashcroft or Lillooet; eligibility for future vacancies in the Interior East Kootenay Service Delivery Area may be considered.

Availability to work up to one day per week from home (subject to telework agreement).

Clearance: Criminal Record Check (CRC) and Criminal Record Review Act Check (CRRA) required.

Employees must be located in British Columbia at time of employment.

Competitive salary: $90,774.07 – $103,579.21 annually (includes a 4 Grid Market Adjustment).
