Digital Communications Specialist

Contract Length: 12 Months

Work Type: Hybrid - Mon, Tues, Thurs in office / Weds, Fri from home.

Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader.

Job Overview

The Digital Communications Analyst is responsible for leading Enbridge Gas's social media strategy, digital content development, and storytelling efforts across Gas Distribution Services (GDS). This role serves as a key communications partner to the business, translating complex operational, regulatory, and customer-related topics into clear, engaging, and customer-focused content.

The successful candidate is an exceptional writer, storyteller, and strategic communicator with a strong understanding of social media, digital engagement, content governance, and reputation management. They will manage content planning and campaign execution, monitor audience sentiment, provide strategic communications advice, and support emergency response communications when required. This role requires the ability to balance multiple priorities while partnering with stakeholders across the organization to achieve key business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and execution of social media strategies, campaigns, and content across Enbridge Gas channels.

Create compelling, customer-focused content that transforms complex business, operational, and regulatory topics into clear, engaging, and accessible communications.

Apply a campaign-driven approach to strengthen audience engagement, increase reach, and support brand objectives.

Ensure content aligns with governance standards, brand guidelines, accessibility requirements, and digital communications best practices.

Manage editorial calendars, campaign planning activities, and stakeholder relationships to support business priorities and communications objectives.

Monitor social media activity, audience sentiment, industry trends, and emerging issues to proactively protect and enhance the organization's reputation.

Provide strategic communications counsel and digital engagement recommendations to business leaders and stakeholders.

Analyze social media channel and campaign performance, delivering actionable insights and recommendations to improve engagement and outcomes.

Leverage AI-enabled content creation, monitoring,



and analytics tools to support content development and performance optimization.

Participate in the Digital Communications on-call rotation and provide support for emergency response, crisis communications, and issue management activities when required.

Scope and Impact

Supports a broad range of digital communications initiatives and campaigns that contribute to organizational objectives and customer engagement.

Exercises independent judgment within established communications processes while escalating complex issues, media inquiries, and reputational risks as appropriate.

Partners with internal stakeholders to support communications planning, execution, and digital engagement activities.

Does not have direct people leadership or budget management responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of five years of experience in communications, digital communications, public affairs, journalism, content strategy, social media, or a related field.

Post-secondary education in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business, or a related discipline.

Proven experience developing and executing successful social media and digital content strategies.

Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to simplify complex or technical information for diverse audiences.

Strong understanding of social media platforms, audience engagement strategies, content performance measurement, and digital analytics.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities, particularly in reputation-sensitive situations.

Strong stakeholder management,



relationship-building, collaboration, and influencing skills.

Self-motivated professional with the ability to work independently while building effective partnerships across the organization.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a superior command of the English language.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working within the utility, energy, government, regulatory, public affairs, or other highly regulated industries.

Experience managing agency, vendor, and external partner relationships.

Familiarity with web content management systems, digital advertising platforms, and marketing analytics tools.

Experience supporting crisis communications, issues management, and emergency response communications.

Working Conditions

Hybrid work setting with an expectation of working in the office three days per week.

Participation in an on-call rotation to support emergency response and issue management activities.

Occasional extended working hours may be required during emergency events, crisis situations, or high-profile issues.

Limited travel may be required to support media events, stakeholder engagements, and business initiatives.
