Make a positive impact as a Senior Youth Worker with Directions Youth Services. This term position offers 40 hours per week helping youth aged 16-21 at a supportive residential program.
The Senior Youth Worker role at Directions Youth Services requires a bachelor's degree in Social Work or relevant experience. You will work collaboratively with a partner, providing immediate support for youth's basic needs and facilitating their goal achievement in a welcoming environment. Engage with at-risk youth around issues like mental health, substance use, and street involvement, ensuring client-centered care and support.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide responsive and empathetic care to youth clients
• Collaborate with a shift partner to support youth effectively
• Develop and implement service plans tailored to individual needs
• Facilitate access to community resources and support services
• Observe and document client progress and behavioral changes
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or equivalent experience
• One year of experience with at-risk youth
• Knowledge of community resources and harm reduction models
• Robust conflict management skills
• Certification in First Aid and CPR is an asset
