Safety Ambassadors aid in the safe delivery of healthcare to Albertans. In this role, you provide non- enforcement related support to Protective Services and Clinical Care teams through a range of safety focused tasks and duties. The primary purpose of the role is to identify potential or imminent safety risks and to activate an appropriate response. This may include offering assistance or support, engaging in verbal de-escalation, alerting Peace Officer team members, collaborating with nursing and medical staff, and/or contacting Police of Jurisdiction. As an Administrative Support III - Safety Ambassador, duties will include monitoring and patrolling AHS facilities to identify potential safety risks or hazards; including complex, violent, or aggressive/ disturbing behaviors involving patients, visitors or others frequenting AHS facilities. Safety Ambassadors often work in the Emergency Department and are responsible for access control, screening, and wayfinding.

As an Administrative Support III,
you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Valid Emergency First Aid and CPR. The ability to work long hours on your feet. Successful completion of Alberta Health Services’ Safety Ambassador tactical communications course upon hiring.
Preferred Qualifications:
Valid First Aid and CPR Level C - AED certification.
