Located at the Lois Hole Hospital for Women, working with postpartum patients, the Licensed Practical Nurse performs a variety of nursing duties by administering protected and effective nursing care according to hospital policies and nursing care standards.
The Licensed Practical Nurse will care for postpartum mothers and newborns. The incumbent must demonstrate a skilled attitude while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and consider the Essential Habits as set forth by the Royal Alex Way in daily interactions with colleagues, patients and visitors.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice,



policies, and procedures.
You will play a key role in providing protected, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization. Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA).

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). NRP certification, CPR certification, recent experience in Women's Health, successful completion and passing of medication math examination at time of interview. Recent experience in Medicine and surgery units.
