Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining housing units and buildings in Ingersoll, Ontario on behalf of York Property Management.

Main duties include investigating maintenance issues and subsequently planning, coordinating, and completing repairs as required. Solid communication and time management skills are required. The Maintenance Technician works in collaboration with the Manager of Resident Experience (MRE) and reports to the Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities

Maintain housing units to ensure the suites are secure and in pristine condition.

Main activities

Complete daily inspections, including building systems inspections, fire safety walk throughs, exterior grounds inspections

Complete daily work requests in Property Management software system, including minor electrical, plumbing, hardware, flooring, and carpentry

Repair and install appliances, including stoves, refrigerators, dishwashers, microwaves, and washing machines

Perform preventive maintenance on fire alarms, appliances, dryer venting, and in suite air handlers

Assist with weekly garbage and recycling pick up, as well as chute maintenance
