This position is for an experienced Mechanic responsible for diagnosing and repairing a variety of vehicles and machinery. The ideal candidate will possess a Journeyman certificate in Truck and Transport or Heavy Equipment, showcasing solid mechanical skills while ensuring compliance with safety standards. Leadership experience is preferred, along with the ability to effectively communicate and document repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on various vehicles
• Complete repairs on mechanical systems like engines and transmissions
• Ensure compliance with GFL safety standards and procedures
• Test repaired equipment for correct performance
• Document all repairs accurately and legibly
Requirements:
• Journeyman certificate in Truck and Transport or Heavy Equipment
• Experience with SGI Motor Vehicle Inspection Program
• Class 5 Driver’s License with clean abstract required
• Strong troubleshooting skills in diverse machinery
• Willingness to work overtime when needed
