Contribute to marine renewable energy initiatives as a Policy Analyst with the Department of Energy in Halifax. Play a vital role in program administration and policy development for tidal energy.
This temporary position in the Marine Renewables Division requires a Policy Analyst skilled in program delivery, compliance monitoring, and stakeholder engagement. You will administer the Marine Renewable-energy Act and work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team while communicating with external partners. Your efforts will support the advancement of marine renewable programs and contribute to our energy security goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Administer the Marine Renewable-energy Act and relevant regulations
• Monitor compliance for tidal energy licenses and permits
• Engage stakeholders and build relationships for program success
• Conduct research and provide analysis on renewable energy
• Review reports and manage data for compliance tracking
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience
• Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience
• Solid project management and analysis skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Knowledge of energy policies, especially tidal energy
