As a Room Attendant/Guest Service Agent, you will wear many hats—from meet‑and‑greeter to problem‑fighter. You will be responsible for maintaining guest rooms, ensuring impeccable cleanliness and safety, and providing friendly customer service to guests. You will work a flexible schedule and have the opportunity for career growth within the Sandman Hotel Group.

Job Requirements

- No education or experience required; we will train one on one
- Ability to follow instruction
- Valuable communication skills are an asset
- Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
- Professional appearance and manners
- Ability to analyze and interpret the needs of clients and offer appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions required
- Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

Housekeeping Duties

- Clean rooms according to Sandman Hotels standards
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of all chemicals and cleaning products and correct handling procedures
- Respond to guests and staff inquiries, requests and complaints promptly and courteously
- Ensure all lost property items left in guest rooms are recorded and handed in to the Supervisor/Manager at the end of the shift
- Report all maintenance and safety hazards to the Supervisor/Manager to minimize hazard risk
- Take personal responsibility for equipment, ensuring it is operated correctly and secured at all times
- Report any unusual or suspicious persons/activities taking place in the area of security to the manager
- Report any maintenance issues including burned out light bulbs
- Check under bed, drawers, and closet for left‑behind articles and/or trash
- Clean sinks, fixtures, and restock all terry, soap, glasses, comment cards,



coffee and other amenities
- Clean coffee pots when needed; ensure pots are plugged in
- Arrange furniture following use by guests
- Ensure security of guest rooms and privacy of guests
- Perform laundry tasks when necessary, including collecting, sorting, transporting laundry at the beginning of each shift
- Remove laundry from dryers and fold immediately to prevent wrinkling
- Stock linen supply room with clean linens for use the next day
- Laundry will include bed linens, blankets, duvets/comforters, towels & face cloths, and restaurant table linens; all cleaning cloths will be washed, dried and folded for housekeeping needs at end of day
- Perform small mending repairs as needed

Guest Service Agent Duties

- Provide a warm, welcoming and friendly environment
- Check guests in and out of the hotel
- Issue room keys
- Answer questions from guests and arrange transportation for guests
- Respond to telephone, e‑mail, and in‑person inquiries from clients, business partners, and other parties
- Compute bills, collect payment and make change for guests
- Count and verify cash, shift activity, keys, gift certificates, and wireless internet cards with departing shift
- Check all unresolved departures
- Ensure front desk is stocked with items guests may require before housekeeping leaves for the day
- Write all wake‑up call requests on specified form and enter on switchboard
- Clean and tidy front desk area
- Refer inquiries to the appropriate individuals, divisions, or departments across the organization
- Present a positive and professional image of the organization to all visitors,



suppliers, and other interactions
- Provide information to staff and/or clients about special activities
- Observe and report any security issues to the Manager
