THE ROLE

As a Kitchen Supervisor, you provide an excellent customer experience in our military messes, golf,



curling and marinas operations.

The Kitchen Supervisor will provide a variety of services such as planning and organizing day-to-day operations, food production and service. You will monitor, control inventory and ensure proper storage and rotation of food products to comply with health department regulations. You will supervise staff; prepare employee work schedules, train staff in job duties and follow sanitation and safety procedures. You will prepare, cook and serve food while ensuring quality productions and services are being provided.

Qualifications Needed

Education, Certifications and Licenses

- High school diploma AND several years experience in hospitality, food and beverage service, or in a related field
- Food Handling Certification, as required

Experience

- In safe food handling practices and procedures
- In applying policies, procedures and regulations
- In food preparation techniques, methods and procedures
- In cooking, baking, and food preparation techniques, methods and procedures
- In calculating and controlling food costsIn personnel administration
- In using software for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, databases, e-mail and Internet browsing

Competencies

- Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.





Language Requirements

- English Essential, Bilingual (English and French) an asset
- Reading: Functional
- Writing: Functional
- Oral: Functional

This is an on-site position with an assigned work location. This Category I unionized position is open to all interested parties. Preference will be granted in accordance with the Collective Agreement for the PSAC bargaining unit for NPF Category I employees at CFB Kingston.
