Special Olympics provides year round sport opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Volunteers are the backbone of the Special Olympics movement! Special Olympics would not exist today— and could not have been created—without the time, energy, commitment and enthusiasm of our volunteers and coaches. It's about making your community and neighborhood a more welcoming and accepting place for people of all abilities.

We are currently seeking enthusiastic coaches, and general volunteers to help run a local basketball program in Scarborough for individuals with intellectual disabilities. The program runs weekly from October - April.



Occasional weekend commitment for competitions.

All volunteers 18 and over, must complete a Vulnerable Sector Check/Screening.

- Willing to undergo a background or police records check
- Comfortable commuting to opportunity location
- Register with Special Olympics Ontario
- Free Online Protected Sport Training
