Become a key player in community protection as a full-time Community Safety Officer reporting to the Director of Operations. This role focuses on developing comprehensive safety strategies across various community risks.
In this critical position, you will implement safety plans addressing wildfire, flood, and other community challenges. You will also lead the Nation’s occupational health and safety initiatives, protecting employees and community members alike. Your expertise in safety management will make a significant impact on community resilience and risk reduction.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a Comprehensive Safety Plan
• Lead community wildfire and flood risk management initiatives
• Monitor emerging hazards and advise leadership on risks
• Coordinate safety infrastructure and emergency preparedness
• Liaise with government and emergency-management partners
Requirements:
• Diploma in safety, emergency management or related field
• 3-5 years of relevant occupational health and safety experience
• Knowledge of Workers Compensation Act and safety legislation
• Solid communication and problem-solving skills
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence required
