Ensure electrical safety compliance as an Electrical Safety Codes Officer II with the City of Edmonton. Engage in technical plan reviews and conduct in office inspections for community safety.

This position is designed for dedicated professionals with a passion for electrical safety. The officer will review electrical plans, inspect new systems, and audit compliance with the Safety Codes Act and Canadian Electrical Code. Experience in both residential and commercial building assessments is essential to partner effectively with community stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
• Review permit applications and electrical plans for compliance
• Conduct inspections during construction stages for safety alignment
• Issue or revoke permits based on assessment findings




• Provide technical code interpretations to contractors and homeowners
• Collaborate with departments like Fire Rescue Services

Requirements:
• Journeyman Electrician certification plus 5 years' experience
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technologist or higher
• Certification as Electrical Group A Safety Codes Officer
• Experience with POSSE or similar software
• Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license
