What You’ll Be Doing
As a Mobile Equipment Technician,you’llbe on the front line—delivering expert service while representingthe Kooy Bros brand with pride, professionalism, and exceptional customer care . Your key responsibilities will include:
Inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, andmaintaininggas and diesel engines, from routine tune-ups to complex rebuilds
Servicing equipment across all categories: lawn mowers, snow blowers, compact construction equipment, utility vehicles, and more
Keeping detailed andaccuraterecords of work completed, including parts used and services performed
Delivering a great customer experience every time —listening to concerns, explaining issues in simple terms,providingrepair options, andidentifyingways Kooy Bros can continue to support their equipment needs
Maintaining a safe, clean,
and fully equipped mobile service vehicle
Adhering to all safety procedures and delivering each repair with precision and pride—reflecting Kooy Bros’ commitment to doing the job right the first time
Participating in a regular on-call rotation for extended hours during peak seasons , particularly in winter storms and snow emergencies, to ensure our customersremainoperational when it matters most
What You Bring to the Table
We’relooking for someone who thrives on solving problems, takes pride in their work, and knows that a great repair is only part of a great customer experience . The ideal candidate will have:
Experience working with small engines, gas/diesel machinery, or heavy-duty outdoor equipment
The ability to work independently and troubleshoot on-site with confidence
A willingness to work on all types and sizes of equipment—no job too small, no challenge too big
Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic diagnostic skills
A valid Ontario driver’s license (Class Grequired; DZ license is a plus) and a clean driving record
Physical fitness and the ability to lift and handle equipment components in outdoor environments
A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and pride in delivering quality workmanship
A customer-first approach —with excellent communication skills, professionalism, and a friendlydemeanor
Commitment to being available for emergency and after-hours support as part of the seasonal on-call rotation
Reliability and punctuality—you’resomeone people can count on
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED (required)
Diploma or completed apprenticeship in Diesel, Motive Power Technician, Small EngineRepairor related field (preferred but notrequired)
Minimum 5+ years of related experience in roles such as heavy-duty technician, mechanic, field technician, diesel mechanic, or automotive technician
Preference given to experience with construction or landscaping equipment; Kubota experience is an asset
Additional Skills:
Proven ability to learnnew technologyand keep up with evolving service procedures and specifications
Proficiencyin wiring and diagnostic software/tools is an asset
Mechanical aptitude and a strong safety focus
Flexibility and willingness to work on seasonal equipment (including snow equipment)
A genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service in every interaction
