Now Hiring: Senior Maintenance Lead / Shift Supervisor
Location: Ontario, Canada
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent (Exempt)
Industry: Industrial Operations & Advanced Manufacturing
Reports To: Operational Leadership
About the Role
Are you a proactive technical leader with a track record of driving equipment reliability and fostering a culture of safety? We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to oversee day-to-day equipment uptime, lead a team of skilled technicians, and optimize facility operations across a multi-stage production environment.
In this role, you will bridge the gap between hands-on technical troubleshooting and strategic operational planning. You will be responsible for advancing our preventative maintenance strategies, leading facility capital improvements, and keeping complex mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems running at peak efficiency.
Key Responsibilities & Impact
Team Leadership & Safety Culture
Champion Workplace Safety: Drive safety as a core value—overseeing lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols, managing hazard assessments, supporting incident investigations, and ensuring full regulatory compliance.
People Management: Direct, mentor, and coach technical staff. Lead hiring efforts, track team KPIs, assign daily priorities, and foster a team-oriented, high-growth environment.
Operational Excellence & Asset Reliability
Maintenance Management: Utilize modern Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) to schedule work orders, prioritize tasks against production needs, and track performance metrics.
Troubleshooting & Support: Provide expert technical oversight on complex mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic,

and industrial electrical systems.
Preventative Strategy: Evolve existing PM programs to minimize unplanned operational downtime and optimize asset lifespans.
Facility & Capital Projects
Infrastructure Upgrades: Oversee facility systems, utilities, and vendor relationships for specialized site work.
Capital Initiatives: Assist with layout redesigns, new machinery installations, and capital expenditure execution.
Budget & Inventory Control: Manage department expenses and maintain critical spare parts inventories to prevent supply delays.
What You Bring to the Team
Experience: 5–7+ years of hands-on industrial maintenance experience, paired with proven success in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
Education: Diploma/Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology, or a Red Seal Trade qualification (or equivalent work history).
Technical Proficiency:
Deep knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical drives, and industrial controls/electrical.
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Systems Expertise: Hands-on experience working with modern CMMS tools and implementing lean manufacturing methods.
Soft Skills: Outstanding communication, conflict resolution skills, and a proactive mindset focused on continuous improvement.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
This position operates within an active heavy manufacturing plant.
Daily exposure includes moving machinery, active fabrication operations, and variable shop conditions. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to site safety protocols are required.
