The Specialized Community Services team is seeking a Peer Advocate responsible for engaging individuals with lived substance use experiences in policy-making and program implementation. Candidates should possess at least two years of experience working with marginalized communities, particularly Indigenous populations, focusing on health promotion initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Promote meaningful engagement among peers
• Develop and implement harm reduction programs
• Mentor peers in urban and rural settings
• Collaborate with First Nations organizations
• Lead community-focused health promotion activities
Requirements:
• Experience in mental health/substance use services
• Two years' experience in related fields
• Knowledge of First Nations cultural principles
• Willingness to pursue further education
• Valid BC Driver's License, where applicable
