Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Java Architect to join our growing team in Vancouver, BC. The ideal candidate will have solid hands-on expertise in Java backend development, architecture, and coding, along with proven experience in the Retail/E-commerce domain . This is a hands-on technical role requiring deep knowledge of microservices, cloud technologies, and modern DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and implement scalable, high-performance backend applications using Java technologies.
Architect and build microservices-based solutions leveraging Spring Boot and cloud-native principles.
Lead technical design discussions and provide architectural guidance to development teams.
Develop clean, maintainable, and efficient code while ensuring best practices in software engineering.
Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.
Drive CI/CD implementation and DevOps automation initiatives.
Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.




Mentor and guide junior developers and participate in code reviews.
Required Skill
15+ years of experience in Java backend development and architecture.
Strong hands-on coding experience in Java/J2EE.
Expertise in Spring Boot, Microservices Architecture, REST APIs .
Experience with AWS Cloud Services .
Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines , DevOps tools, and automation practices.
Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Knowledge of Kafka or other messaging/event-driven platforms.
Strong database experience with SQL and NoSQL technologies.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Domain Experience
Mandatory experience in Retail, E-commerce, Commerce, or Omni-channel environments .
Understanding of retail platforms, order management, inventory, payments, pricing, promotions, and customer journeys is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to cloud-native architecture patterns and modern software engineering practices.
