Enhance patient mobility as a Registered Orthotic Technician at Nova Scotia Health. This permanent full-time position focuses on custom orthotic fabrication and team collaboration.
In this role, you will report to the Program Manager of Assistive Technology within the Orthotics Department. You will provide expertise in evaluation, treatment planning, and maintenance of assistive devices to optimize the patients' physical functions. Interaction with patients, interdisciplinary support, and maintaining quality orthotic care are vital components of this position.
Key Responsibilities:
• Evaluate and plan individualized orthotic treatments
• Design, fabricate, and maintain orthoses for patients
• Collaborate with clinicians and health care teams
• Supervise and evaluate students or interns
• Uphold evidence-informed practices in care
Requirements:
• Registration in good standing with Orthotics Prosthetics Canada
• Minimum two years of experience in a hospital setting
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
• Solid manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of confidentiality and infection control
