Reporting to the Lead Project Manager, the Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful execution of heavy civil construction projects across a diverse range of scopes, including earthworks, base and paving, concrete, underground utilities, and landscaping..

This role requires a hands‑on leader who can manage multiple scopes, align field operations with project plans, and ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

How You’ll Add Value

Actively contributes to the safety culture, promoting a safe and productive work workplace

Manage multiple civil construction projects or scopes simultaneously, ensuring alignment between field execution and project plans

Lead project planning, scheduling, cost control, forecasting, and reporting

Coordinate closely with Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, and internal teams to drive execution

Oversee project performance, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies

Support change management, client communication, and issue resolution

Conduct site visits to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with specifications

Partner with estimating and operations teams to ensure strong project start‑up and execution

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders

Support continuous improvement across processes, productivity, and team performance

What You Bring

5+ years of project management experience in heavy civil construction

Strong understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and project delivery practices

Proven ability to lead teams and manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment

Proficiency and experience with software such as InEight, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Bluebeam is an asset

Strong ability to read and interpret specifications and project documentation

Technical Skills:





Experience using InEight for project controls, cost tracking, forecasting, and reporting

Experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or similar ERP systems for project and financial management

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and project reporting tools

Education / Certifications:

Engineering degree, CET, PMP, or Construction Management background is considered an asset

Work Environment & Expectations

This position is based in Fort McMurray

Pre‑employment Drug & Alcohol Testing and Fit‑for‑Work Testing may be required
