Are you a proven leader with a background in heavy-duty equipment, hydraulics, automotive, marine, crane, elevator, or industrial mechanical systems? Do you have experience leading a service shop while driving business development and customer relationships?

We’re seeking a Branch Manager for our Nanaimo location who can inspire teams, oversee operations, and grow the business through a consultative sales approach. The ideal candidate brings strong technical knowledge, leadership experience, and a track record of prospecting, developing, and closing opportunities within the industrial or heavy equipment sector. This position is based out of either of our locations in Vancouver Island (Victoria/Sooke, Nanaimo).

Job Duties & Responsibilities
Branch Leadership & Operations

Lead the day-to-day operations of the branch, ensuring exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, and compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.

Act as the primary liaison between the branch and head office, fostering effective communication and alignment on business objectives.

Maintain a secure, professional, and productive work environment for employees and customers.

People Leadership

Recruit, develop, coach, and lead a high-performing team in partnership with Human Resources and head office.

Provide ongoing direction, performance management, training,



and workforce planning to support operational success and employee development.

Promote a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Business Development & Customer Relations

Drive revenue growth by developing and executing sales and service strategies, expanding customer relationships, and identifying new business opportunities.

Build and maintain strong partnerships with customers, vendors, and key stakeholders while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.

Serve as a technical and operational resource to customers and staff as required.

Financial & Administrative Management

Oversee branch administration, reporting, budgeting, and operational controls to ensure profitability and efficient business performance.

Monitor financial results, manage expenditures, and support annual budget planning while achieving revenue and profit targets.

Ensure timely processing of branch documentation, payroll information, contracts, and supplier agreements.

Act as the primary liaison between the branch and head office, fostering effective communication and alignment on business objectives.

Maintain a safe, professional,



and productive work environment for employees and customers.

Qualifications

Ideally, a minimum of five years of related outside sales experience in the industrial or heavy equipment sector, working independently to prospect, qualify, develop, and close business through a consultative sales process

Prior experience in the heavy equipment industry

Prior experience in a managerial role

The ability to work as part of a team

The ability to lead and motivate when necessary

Excellent communication and ‘people’ skills

A strong commitment to customer service

The ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations

Confidence, drive and enthusiasm

Decision-making ability and a sense of responsibility

Possession of a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
