Job Description: IT System Administrator
Summary
Vision Integrity is currently looking to hire an IT System Administrator for a full-time position. The System Administrator will play a crucial role in maintaining our corporate IT infrastructure, managing identity and access, and providing Level 1/2 technical support across the organization. This role requires a balance of technical troubleshooting, system administration, and robust interpersonal communication. This position will begin in-person for training, moving to a hybrid schedule after initial training is completed.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
M365 & Workspace Administration: Manage, configure, and support Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
Identity & Access Management: Administer Microsoft Entra ID, handling user lifecycle management, RBAC, and configuring/maintaining Single Sign-On (SSO) integrations, etc.
Technical Support: Serve as the primary escalation point for L1/2 support, troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues for in-person and remote employees.
IT Asset & Endpoint Management: Handle the deployment, tracking, and lifecycle management of corporate IT assets (laptops, mobile devices, peripherals) utilizing Intune MDM.
Networking & Infrastructure: Assist with the deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting of corporate network hardware, access points, and remote connection/VPN configurations.
Security & Compliance: Enforce corporate IT security policies, monitor system alerts, ensure prompt software patching, and maintain data protection standards.
On-Site IT Operations: Manage the physical organization of IT equipment, occasionally driving assets (in company vehicle)
to locations throughout AB / BC / SK as required with short notice for site setups or critical troubleshooting.
System Documentation: Create and maintain clear internal IT documentation, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Position Requirements
Experience: Experience in an IT support, helpdesk, or junior system administration role with a strong focus on Level 2 support.
Technical Proficiency: Hands‑on administration experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft Entra ID, and SSO implementation. Advanced troubleshooting skills for Windows 11 operating systems.
Strong Interpersonal Skills: Outgoing, conversational, and highly comfortable translating "tech" into plain English for end‑users across all levels of the business.
Independent Operation: Ability to operate independently for extended periods, prioritize IT tickets effectively, and maintain high-quality control.
Schedule Flexibility: Able to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends with short notice to resolve urgent operational IT outages or perform system maintenance.
Driving Requirements: Valid Class 5 Non-GDL Driver's License with a clean driving history. Comfortable driving standard company vehicles (e.g., Explorer, F-150) for site visits.
Logistics: Access to a reliable personal vehicle for occasional light work‑related use.
Nice‑to‑Haves / Significant Assets
Networking Experience: Familiarity with setting up corporate networking ecosystems (such as Ubiquiti UniFi hardware), VPNs, gateways, and remote management.
Scripting: Basic knowledge of PowerShell for automating routine administrative tasks in M365 and Entra ID.
